Shipping Policies

Our Cremation Urn prices include Priority Mail shipping ("Free Shipping"/ “2 day service aimed for but not guaranteed by the US Postal Service”) on orders to a destination within the 48 contiguous United States.  Every “free shipping” package will be insured up to the USPS $500.00 maximum or to the amount of every order less than $500.00.  Every package will be well packed, well protected, intact and in good order when we deliver it to the carrier.  Once it leaves our hands, responsibility will shift to the carrier for the packages’ well being. 

Our Cremation Urn prices include Priority Mail shipping ("Free Shipping"/ “6 to 10 day service aimed for but not guaranteed by the US Postal Service”) on orders to a destination within Canada.

Shipping Information

Shipments to areas outside the 48 contiguous States or orders requiring special delivery may incur additional charges. If you have questions and to make alternate arrangements regarding shipping, please contact Customer Service at (781) 492-6249 or customerservice@jcscarpentry.com. The terms of JCS Carpentry & Woodworking Shipping Policies are built-into, and considered part of, these Terms.

Guaranteed Delivery Dates

In the event that a shipper (UPS, FedEx, USPS, DHL) has missed a "Guaranteed" delivery date, (only Air shipment times can be guaranteed), the extra shipping amount paid by you will be refunded (with exception to weather delays - UPS, FedEx, USPS, DHL will not refund shipping charges due to weather or events beyond their control). If an adult signature is required and there is no one to sign for it upon first attempt, there will be no refunds. Product returned because of a missed "Guaranteed" delivery date will be charged a 10% restocking fee. See www.ups.com, www.fedex.com, www.usps.com, www.dhl-usa.com for their policies regarding "Guaranteed" delivery. Exceptions such as weather and holidays apply for UPS, FedEx, USPS, DHL.

In some rare instances (shipping to Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, costal Islands around the US, Canada, etc.) our US Next-Day air rate and US 2-Day Air rate may not cover actual shipping charge and we will contact you immediately to let you know your options and costs involved.

Shipping Address Confirmation, Phone Number, and Needed By Date

We request from customers a “needed by date” on the shipping page of our online Storefront. We do this to ensure the default shipping option is sufficient to get your item you or your aftercare professional on time.  If the default shipping option does not satisfy the need date you provided we will attempt to contact you via email and phone before shipping your order. If we are unable to contact you we reserve the right to ship your order using an expedited service and charge you for the expedited service in order to meet the need date you provided.

Returns & Exchanges

Returns: If you have a problem with an item, e.g. damaged in shipping, craftsmanship, personalization error or you just don't like the item, please contact Customer Service immediately at or to receive return & exchange instructions. We must receive notification prior to any return to prevent unnecessary delays and/or additional shipping charges.

Returns & Exchanges of Non-Damaged or Non-Personalized Items

If you are not satisfied with your purchase simply call Customer Service at (781) 492-6249 or email us at customerservice@jcscarpentry.com to initiate a return or exchange. The following basic requirements must be met to receive a refund:

If these requirements are not met, a 10% restocking fee may be applied.  If the item is not returned in resalable condition, all entitlements for a refund are forfeited.

Every listing is designed to simulate the actual experience as much as possible to a real store experience to assure buyer and seller both that you like the item.  We spend a great deal of time and effort to achieve that effect.  For that reason, if an item is returned for the reason of not liking the item, a fair 5-15% restocking fee will be applied.

Defects in craftsmanship are entitled to a full refund or exchange.  Following are some examples of defects in craftsmanship:

Characteristics outlined in the “Natural Materials and Naturally Occurring Anomalies in Appearance and Texture” section of our terms and conditions do not constitute defects.

Return must be received by JCS Carpentry & Woodworking within (10) ten days of original delivery date

Returns & Exchanges of Damaged Items

If you receive a damaged or defective item we must be notified within 48 hours of delivery to set up a return or exchange. Call Customer Service at (781) 492-6249 or

email us at customerservice@jcscarpentry.com .

If an item is damaged in shipping, the box will most likely be damaged as well.  If the box:

do not open the box and call us immediately.  We have a very specific procedure to ensure the shipper if responsible is held liable.  Failure to comply with this policy by opening the damaged box before contacting us may forfeit your rights with the shipper.

If you received a defective item, damaged item, or a personalized item that was damaged, and JCS Carpentry & Woodworking is responsible for the damage, we reserve the right to replace the item.

Personalized items can not be returned unless they are defective, damaged or were personalized incorrectly. If you received a personalized item that was damaged, defective, personalized incorrectly or of poor craftsmanship we reserve the right to repair or replace the damaged item.

If there is any problem, please contact us immediately so that we can take care of the problem and endeavor to take care of you. If you wish return an item contact us first via phone or email.
